First of all, you must have a clear understanding of what a contact property is. A property will store the contact's information, a company, a deal, or a ticket.
You'll be able to create custom properties for each of these objects. Sometimes there are industry-specific properties that you might need to add to a contact or company information that isn't already in HubSpot. You can add up to 1000 custom properties per object.
There are a wide number of default properties already in Hubspot for you to use.
